Automatic updates of memoQ - troubleshooting and log file locations
Description: If the automatic updater (auto-update) is not installing the latest official update of memoQ, follow these steps to help memoQ support troubleshoot the problem.
How to: The automatic updater is a Windows service that runs with elevated privileges. This means that if updating memoQ is enabled, it should happen without problems, and the user does not need to do anything - even if User Account Control is turned on, and even if the user is not an administrator.
The automatic updater's log files are in these locations:
c:\Windows\Temp\
c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\
The file names look like this, depending on the version and the date:
memoQ.x.x.x.autoupdate.2018.02.21.16.40.23.log
If the auto-update feature is not working well, find the latest log files and send them to support@memoq.com.
