Changing the language code added to the filename from files exported by memoQ
Context: You wish to language code added to the filename from files exported by memoQ so it becomes the new standard way of naming your exported files (for example, name a file exported as filename_en into filename_english).
How to:
In memoQ, this is can be achieved using Export path rules, which set the way files are batch-exported out of memoQ.
Export path rules can be found in the Settings section of every memoQ project:
Here, you will see several rulesets:
The "file" ruleset is the one applied when you import files using Import or Import with options…
The "folder" ruleset is the one applied when you import files using Import folder structure…
To change the way memoQ exports files, you need to Clone one of these default rulesets and create your own, that you will be able to customize.
To do that, right-click over the ruleset to clone and select Clone/Use New from the context menu:
Now edit the new ruleset as you wish. In the example below, the default behaviour is changed so that files are exported into a subdirectory of the source folder named after the target language (using 3 letters) and just saves the file under its original name, untouched:
