Content Connector: What happens when the file is being copied during polling

Content Connectors can poll specific folders for updates. What happens when this polling takes place while content is being uploaded to e.g. the FTP site?

This depends on the specific tool that you use to upload content. Tools like Microsoft Windows Explorer or Total Commander lock the file from reading, and in such cases, Content Connectors do not import the file.

Other tools might add an extension to the file that is being uploaded. If you encounter such situations, please add an exception rule so that the Content Connectors are not attempting to import such files.
Certain tools may not lock the file - this can actually cause trouble, so please discourage the use of such tools. A workaround in these situations is that you upload the files to another folder, and using a scheduled script you move the files to the Content Connector-watched folders.
