Instructions for linguists
Linguists can work with memoQ cloud through the memoQ desktop app, or through a browser. We recommend you start working with the desktop app and then switch to the browser.
Get a license from memoQ Cloud
If you do not have memoQ:
Download and install memoQ translator pro from https://www.memoq.com/en/downloads
When you run memoQ for the first time. and the following window appears, click OK:
Jump to Step 3 below.
If you have memoQ, but don’t have your own license:
Open memoQ, and click the blue memoQ tab in the upper left corner:
Click Activation Wizard.
When the memoQ activation wizard appears, click Next.
Choose the option I wish to use CAL...:
On the following screen, click Configure:
Enter your memoQ cloud address in the CAL server field, and click Test.
Select Enter username and password. Enter your login information.
You should now receive a translator pro license:
If you have memoQ and your own license
You don’t need to borrow a license from the memoQ Cloud license pool, You can already Check out projects from the memoQ Cloud
If you work in WebTrans, using a browser
Simply click on the project link you received by e-mail from a project manager of the memoQ Cloud. You will automatically get a license.
Check out projects using memoQ
When a project manager assigns work to you in a memoQ cloud, you receive an e-mail with short instructions on how to access the project, and an attachment that opens the project. If you don’t receive this e-mail, follow the instructions below.
Click the Check Out From Server icon,
or the Check out a project from a memoQ server button above the project list:
In the Server URL box, enter your memoQ Cloud address, and click the checkmark button.
Select a project and click the Check out project link.
Work in WebTrans, using a browser
When a project manager assigns work to you in a memoQ cloud, you receive an e-mail with a link to the project. If you don’t receive this e-mail, follow the instructions below.
Open your browser, and enter the memoQ Cloud address.
Enter your login information:
Click the Sign in button.
Find the file (use the search box if you have a lot of files), and click the pencil to open it for translation.
