Purchasing a translator pro license
This short guide will lead you through the process of purchasing a translator pro license.
Start on our product page. Here you can learn more about what memoQ can offer you to improve your work efficiency.
To buy a translator pro license, click the Buy now button.
1. Start the purchase
You will land on the Buy memoQ translator pro license page. Here you can see the order summary and the expiration date of the Support and Maintenance Agreement (SMA) that comes with the purchase.
Choose your preferred currency (USD, EUR, or HUF) from the dropdown.
If you have a discount code, enter it in the text box, and click the + button. Discount codes might be available in certain currencies only: If a discount code is only for purchases in USD, you cannot redeem it if you chose to pay in EUR. You can only redeem one code with each purchase. To remove the discount code you added, click the Remove discount code link.
At the bottom of the page, click the Continue button.
2. Create your account
At this point, if you do not have a my memoQ account, you will need to sign up for one. (If you already have one, click the Sign in link.)
Enter your email address and a password (8 or more characters). Accept the Terms of Service and agree to our Privacy Policy. To go to the next page, click Continue.
3. Add your trial serial number
If you did a trial, you have a serial number. You can upgrade this trial serial number to a perpetual translator pro license. This makes the activation process much quicker.
To add the trial serial number, click the Add your serial number button.
Enter your serial number without the last three digits (for example, "-001")., and click Add.
To return to the page without adding your serial number, click Cancel.
To remove the serial number, click the Remove link. You can also remove it in the Order summary. If you continue without adding a serial number, we will create a new one for you.
At the bottom, click Continue.
4. Add your billing details
Choose between Legal entity or Natural person. Based on your choice, the form in the Billing info section shows different fields. To learn more about these options, see the My billing details article.
Fill in your contact info: You need to enter your full name and email address. Keep in mind that we will send your invoice to this email address. You can also enter your phone number if you wish. Your contact info will appear here automatically, if you already had a processed purchase. You can edit the details at any time.
Fill in your billing info: Enter the details necessary to create the invoice for your purchase.
If you are a Natural person, you must provide:
- Your current address (street name, city and postal or zip code)
- The name of the country that you reside in (state or province is optional)
- The currency that you prefer during the billing process
If you are a Legal entity, you must provide:
- The name of the company
- The current address that the company is registered under (street name, city and postal or zip code)
- The currency that you prefer during the billing process
- Your national VAT number
What is a VAT number?
It is the unique number that identifies a taxable person (business) or a non-taxable legal entity. The entity could be registered for VAT (value added tax) in many countries, including the countries of the European Union. In the EU, a VAT number can be verified online at the EU's official VIES website. If you have a valid EU VAT number, you do not need to pay VAT for your purchases. You can either enter your EU VAT number during the online purchase, or on the Billing details page. In both cases, you will be exempt from VAT.
We need to check the validity of your EU VAT number via the VIES system. If this system is down, we cannot accept EU VAT numbers. In this case, try the billing info update or the purchase later.
5. Choose a payment method
Debit/credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express)
We will redirect you to our payment provider where you can finalize your payment securely. Click the Continue to secure payment button.
On the checkout page, fill in your credit card details and click Pay.
Wire transfer
Click the Continue button to see instructions about the bank transfer. Make sure you include your order number in the transfer memo so that we can identify the incoming payment easier.
You will need to pay all costs of the wire transfer.
6. Complete the purchase
If you paid with a debit/credit card, the Purchase summary page will open after checkout. Here you can see your serial number that you can use to activate memoQ and start working right away.
If you paid with a wire transfer, the purchase will be closed once your payment is arrived. You will receive your serial number in the email with your invoice.
